khabar 36 Garh news bilaspur: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with a grand mass yoga session under “SECL Yoga Mahotsav 2026” at Vasant Club, Vasant Vihar Colony, Bilaspur. Organised in line with this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, officers and their family members.
The programme was attended by SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Shri Harish Duhan, First Lady of SECL and President of Shraddha Mahila Mandal Smt. Shashi Duhan, Director (HR) Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Finance) Shri Darla Sunil Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Himanshu Jain, Director (Technical – Projects & Planning) Shri Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra, Vice Presidents of Shraddha Mahila Mandal Smt. Ipsita Das and Smt. Hasina Kumar, along with senior officials, employees and their family members.
The yoga session was conducted under the guidance of Brahma Kumari Gayatri Devi. Yoga instructors Shri Kamal Motwani (Art of Living), Dr. Kavita, Smt. Asha Soni (Patanjali Yoga Samiti), Shri Sunil Suryavanshi (Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission) and Shri Sanatan Das (Gayatri Pariwar) guided participants through various yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation practices.
A live telecast of the national International Day of Yoga celebrations led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from Kolkata was also screened during the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Harish Duhan said, “Yoga is the foundation of a healthy body, a calm mind and a positive lifestyle. Regular practice of yoga strengthens us physically and mentally and helps improve overall quality of life.” He urged employees and their families to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine.
At the conclusion of the programme, participants pledged to adopt regular yoga practice for a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. A pledge for a drug-free society was also administered.
Similar yoga programmes were organised across SECL’s headquarters, Areas and operational units, with large-scale participation by employees and their family members, reaffirming the company’s commitment to promoting health, wellness and holistic well-being.
